Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA is a 3-year program) was established in 2002 as the first hockey specific sport school recognized by BC Hockey and Hockey Canada. In 2008, OHG expanded its operations to St Polten, Austria and then in 2012 to Swindon, England in the UK. OHA’s success can be seen in the long list of players who have moved on to play at the WHL, Junior A, University and International levels. OHA is one of the premier private hockey programs worldwide.
The Okanagan Hockey School has three specific programmes designed for following successive levels of players, from ages 5-15 years old: a Development Camp, an Advanced Development Camp (12- 15yrs) and an Integrated Goaltending Programme.

Snowmobiling, Nordic Skiing, Heli-Skiing, Dogsled Tours
In addition to skiing and snowboarding, activities such as snowmobiling, snowshoeing and cross-country (Nordic) skiing are popular. For something different, try heli- or cat-skiing, or take a dogsled tour through scenic trails.
The South Okanagan is the perfect location for ice fishing, and not just fun in the sun.
The group of everyday anglers devote their time to the sport of fishing with conservation efforts first in mind.
Their mission is to introduce people to the sport of fishing and encourage the new generation to become connected with the outdoors. Recently a video produced by BC Fishn’ promotes several lakes around Osoyoos for ice fishing as well as giving some tips of the trade for the winter sport.
The team visited Yellow Lake, just 20 km southwest of Penticton off of Highway 3B, to film; the same spot where Ice Fish Day will be held on Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ice Fish Day is organized by the B.C. Wildlife Federation, Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations.
The event is for all ages; however those 16 and over require a BC Freshwater Fishing License. Ice fishing gear and bait will be supplied, as well as a hot dog lunch.
Yellow Lake is stocked with Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout and Kokanne by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
